[Establishing Accountability for Crimes Against Humanity] Discussion with European Criminal Law Experts
The Citizens' Coalition for North Korean Human Rights supports international advocacy efforts to establish accountability for crimes against humanity linked to North Korea's supply chains and international trade, and continues to conduct various campaigns and advocacy activities for this purpose.
On April 11, 2025, the UN Human Rights Office in Seoul hosted a meeting with a visiting delegation of European criminal law experts and practitioners, alongside civil society partners involved in establishing criminal accountability for North Korea. This meeting explored various approaches to achieving justice for North Korean crimes against humanity and pursuing accountability under international criminal law. At this meeting, the Citizens' Coalition for North Korean Human Rights presented the findings of its investigation into Camp 12 and sought expert advice on developing a legal response strategy.
